 Mrs Mary Emmanouilidou-Gavala is of Karpathian origin (Arkasa-Menetes) living in Marousi, Athens Greece. She is very active in the local community and is on the election ballot of Mr. Stathis Ragousis for the October 2006 municipality elections in Greece. Last week the Karpathian Genealogy project surpassed 20000 individuals in its database. Lately alot of interest has been generated and many fellow Karpathians have been submitting new data regarding their families and relatives. Hopefully, this excitement will continue and the project will continue to grow. All current members are urged to submit photographs of their relatives to be included in the online database. This way a better overall picture is outlined for others researching their heritage.

Issue 426, July-September 2005, of the Karpathiaki Icho magazine has been released. This issue, as the previous ones, is written primarily in the Greek language with a small English summary. On the cover page there is a photograph from the celebration of the St. John's church in Vroukounta.

 TheKarpathian.com - the global Karpathian online community - has reopened its web doors to the public. The main person behind this effort is George Hatzigeorgiou, a young individual with IT background, with Karpathian heritage - from the village of Menetes.
The new website is a definite improvement - with more features and huge potential. George is also a member of this site's online community (George's KarpathianTree.com Profile) and is also listed in the Karpathian Genealogy online tree (George's Heritage).
As a personal note, I would like to state that I have been trying to establish better communication and collaboration with website administrators of other Karpathian online communities. George has been one of the most responsive and helpful collaborators in this effort.
Also, the technologies and infrastructure behind the two websites, KarpathianTree.com and TheKarpathian.com is similar, so we can expect more collaboration and content exchange in the future.

 On October 26th, 2005, in Rhodes, George Skevofylakas and Tina Ypsilanti have birth to a 3 kilogram baby boy. George is the son of Minas Skevofylakas and Popi Hiotaki with Karpathian heritage from Aperi and Pigadia. Tina is the daughter of Yiannis Ypsilanti and Marina Papathanasi from Rhodes. The entire family is in perfect health.
